Sarah Kirchner, PNP, is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner who joined the Commonwealth Pediatrics team in 2015. Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marymount University, graduating with magna cum laude. Sarah’s dedication to advancing her expertise led her to achieve a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Virginia.

Nurse Practitioner
In her role as a pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP), Sarah focuses on a wide array of specialties within pediatrics, encompassing autism, ADHD, developmental and mental health, and travel medicine. She demonstrates a deep commitment to social justice and equity and loves working with families on Medicaid. Her career journey began on a Burn Unit, which eventually led her to pediatrics where she found her true calling in primary care. Sarah’s favorite aspects of her role include building trust with her patients, particularly autistic children, to provide a comfortable exam experience, as well as helping teens with mental health concerns find the right treatment.
Outside of work, Sarah loves theatre, Shakespeare, reading, studying Spanish and traveling. She maintains an active lifestyle with road biking, swimming, yoga and hiking, and also enjoys gardening, cooking and pottery.
