🖥️ 😵‍💫 encourage your kids to unplug and play this summer! Try to create screen-free 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 and 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 in your home; for example, no screens during mealtime or no screens in the bedroom. And be mindful of your own online habits, because children love to mimic the adults in their lives. ㅤ

A message from dr. Talibi as he prepares for retirement: 🩵🩺
ㅤ
it is with great joy and a little sadness that i announce my retirement, with my last day being september 10th. It has been my honor to help take care of your children over the past 24 years. I will miss their smiles and laughs, and even their screaming cries. Really, i see their cries less as fear of me (of which there is some) but more as the expression of their trust and bond with you as their parents. Corny? Yeah, but it's part of the job description. I will also miss watching your children grow and develop into fun and interesting adults. I will miss pretending to see butterflies or puppies in their ears. I will miss the sullen teen's monosyllabic grunts and then watching them try to stifle a half-smile from my lame dad jokes. Some of my older patients have started bringing their children to me, which officially makes me a "grand-doctor", which is awesome since i'm really not ready to be a grandparent! But this is all i've known since i started med school in 1995, so it's time to explore the next chapter in my life while i still have the health and energy to do so. ㅤ
i thank you all for your trust in allowing me to take care of your precious children. I will miss you all, but i won't miss my cow (computer on wheels), and all that it entails. I won't miss having a screen in my face all day, taking up the time i should be spending with you and your children. I will also miss my wonderful staff, nurses, doctors, and nurse practitioners at commonwealth peds. Some i've known for 20+ years, and some are younger than my own children, but i consider them all family. Of course, no family is perfect (or at least not one that i would want to be a part of); in the end, love remains the guiding force in our lives. I have faith that the practice will thrive and continue to provide the best care possible for your children. My fellow docs and nps are all excellent across the board, and the wonderful nurses and staff are the fundamental backbone of the practice as well. So, i know you will be in great hands, which makes leaving easier. ㅤ
my love to you all,
dr. Talibi 🌿✨

Tiny tastebuds... 𝕓𝕚𝕘 opinions! 🍌
ㅤ
if your child only wants the same three snacks on repeat, you are not alone. Picky eating is a common phase for many children. ㅤ
keep offering a variety of foods, pair new foods with familiar favorites, and try to eat together and without pressure. (hang in there! ) with patience and consistency, many children become more comfortable trying new foods over time. If you ever have concerns about your child’s nutrition, growth, or eating habits, our providers are here to help. 🧡
